This is the first part of a three-part series that highlights the essentials of music festivals; this one is about food (stay tuned to the second part, about organization, and the third, about drinks). With farm-to-table options, craft beers, and luxury food trucks that take festival food to a new level, attendees have done the same and prepared their own gourmet gastronomic creations at festival camps across the country. As nice as the couple that helped my son-in-law (they are all still friends to this day), it's probably not a good idea to go to a music festival unprepared. Check back here to Ticketmaster Insider on Thursday, April 7 to see which music festival foods were among the best.
After all, food is one of the great joys of the music festival experience, and it just keeps getting better. So when the other night they prepared this BLT pasta salad with chicken for me, light and refreshing, yet filling, tasty and filling (think tender pasta, crispy and refreshing lettuce and tomato, a little spicy dressing, and lots of smoked bacon and tasty chicken), I realized that it's the perfect meal to take to a music festival (or to a camp in general). It's summer music festival season and you're getting ready for 3 full days of running from stage to stage in stifling heat and dancing like you're a rolled up toy.
